America Online rip-off Unfair billing practice rip-off Dulles Virginia
In November 2002, I telephoned AOL's billing department and told them I would like to cancel my account. The representative asked me if I would like two months of AOL internet service free. I answered no thank you and the person continued right on as if I had said yes.
When I saw a polite opportunity I concluded our conversation, thinking that my message, simple as
it was, had been understood. Two months later I saw that AOL had debited my account for a months service. I immediatly called their billing department once again and tried to explain that I had canceled. I was told that I had been given two months of free AOL and was being charged for the next regular service month.
I asked to have that charge cancelled and was told that I could not. I was given a cancellation number of
080231 **** but, It seems that I'm out my money.
