America's Best eyecare claims to be low cost, but only to get you in the door to do a classic bait and switch. Advertised $70 two pair, single lens, plastic. is the bait.

The switch cost me $241. for one pair. They said the polycarbonate lens was the reason. According to wiki, polycaronate is a Plastic #7 type. No avail, I'm out the extra cost.

I did file a claim with FTC today. #33983184

Bait and Switch is one of the most overused terms around here, but you do not give any details as to why this is Bait and Switch.

There are many types of "plastics".  Polycarbonate is considered a plastic, as you stated their Identification is 7 but that is basically a Catch-All as Type 7 is "Other".  There are many types of plastics out there.  When someone refers to a "plastic" lenses they generally do NOT mean Polycarbonate lenses, they mean a basic plastic lenses using cheaper material.

When you went in and asked for the $70 special what did they say?

I'm out the extra cost.

- This statement brings up another question.  Why?

If you went in for $70 lenses and the cost was $241 why did you buy them?  How come you didn't just walk out and refuse to do business with them?
