This is not the first time I was fooled by a magazine company (unfortuneatly). Both times was after I had cancled my legitamate company.

AEM (as they title their collection letter), called, posed as my current company, and told me they HAD to update their records. When I gave them my information (stupid I now know), I specifically asked if they were going to bill me. Since it was almost a year ago, I don't remember if they told me a flat out no, or not now. I even called to cancle (once I found out it was a new company), and it HAPPENED to be on my last cancelation day. As lucky as I felt then, it turned sour REAL quick. The lady I spoke with told me that only the manager could cancle an account, and since it was Saturday, she wasn't in. I would have to call on monday. This is the only time I have spoke with them. I have talked to 2 collections agents, and they both gave me the same number I already had. Once I was told the manger was in and it was a good time to call. And like every time since the first, it went to voice mail. They are impossible to contact. I've written one letter telling them I wanted to talk to the manager about my cancelation a year ago, and the only response I got was another collection letter.

Oh, I forgot all about the fact that when I called my bank after about a week of trying to contact them, they told me I only had a case if they didn't send me any magazines. Well after quite a few months, I called my bank back after not getting these magazines I never wanted in the first place, and only after my bank called, did I get anything.

Please, if you've been duped by these guys, file a report, and maybe the nightmare will end!
