America's Servicing Company fear of losing my house and or taxes not being paid ripoff Frederick Maryland
Like many others, My mortgage company used to be Option One Mortgage. They took online payments and it was great. I received a letter somtime in October that they were selling my mortgage to America's Servicing Company as of November 1st 2004. Because the way my budget is set up, I paid my first motgage on Option One's website on October 16th (payment was due 11/01/04). My second mortgage, I paid on October 27th (payment was also due 11/01/04) Boy am I glad I did!
It wasn't until 11/08/04 that ASC mailed me a letter thay were taking over the 2nd mortage. (I received the letter 11/11/04) I didn't receive my bill until 11/12/04. If I had waited for my bill to arive I WOULD have been late! I still have yet to recieve a notice letter or bill for my 1st mortgage. Which I was hoping to pay today. I am glad I found all these messages!
I will begin calling them on Monday, and will call every day until I can get my new loan number so I can pay my 1st mortage before it is due. My suggestion to all who read this: If your mortage is with ASC, pay them via ONLINE BANKING WITH BILL PAY. If you're not online, get online. If your bank doesn't offer bill pay, switch to one that does. Many banks offer FREE bill pay with online banking. ASC accepts electronic transfers. Which means that the bank will guarantee that ASC will receive their payment within 1-2 business days. I feel that this is the only way to be sure ASC can not rip you off.
The tax thing, that is a different story and I'm glad I have until February to straighten it out. Also, one more thing. If you are burned by ASC, PLEASE report them to the BBB. The only way to get back at this company is to flood the BBB with bad reports about them.
