I managed to screw up my transmission on a 6 speed manual car. I broke down on a highway and the PD had it towed to a lot in the Katy area. The car was not in driving condition, so I managed to have it to towed to the nearest repair facility, who just so HAPPENED to 'specialize in transmissions'.

I was treated very respectfully at first, told that my car was being diagnosed and that I would get a call the following morning. I called 3 days later, after not getting any calls, and was told I'd be given a call back within the hour. I received the phone call the next day and was told the transmission needed repair and the clutch and flywheel needed to be replaced.

i was given an eta of 3 days, in which I was written a check to 'cover the rental' for three days. Long story short, after 3 weeks of daily calls and new excuses they finally 'managed to get all the parts they needed and were to have it ready the following day. As luck would have it, I had a family emergency which caused me to leave town for the weekend. Upon returning the following week, I arrive at the shop to be told the flywheel was taken back out because I hadn't paid for it upfront.

When the car was finally ready the week AFTER and I was charged north of 4000 the car would not start nor was it in any condition to be driven. The owner Sal Ruiz responded to my frustration after having paid 4000 and spent over a month 'getting repairs' by cursing at me and telling me it wasn't his fault and he only worked on transmissions not knowing the engine needed repair. Yet he claimed to have test driven it twice. He refuses to give me an itemized receipt afterwards although he promised me one after payment.

Now heres the best part. I had the car checked out afterwards. The clutch was never replaced. The transmission was barely touched. I was jipped out of my money and now have to pay more to have real repairs done. I am in the process of filing a law suit. DO NOT TRUST THIS ESTABLISHMENT, NOR ANY AFFILIATES: THOMAS PERFORMANCE AUTO. Sal Ruiz will have you sign a so called warranty that allows him to repossess your car protecting himself from credit disputed. He and his establishment are the biggest crooks I've ever had the misfortune to run into. I pray you don't make the same mistake.
