Complaint Review: AMERICA TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL

You are better off throwing your money out the window! You will never get a CDL here, this place is solely designed for you to buy more hours training. There is a serious language barrier if you are NOT of Spanish descent. Here is how it works. You will have to purchase your hours in my case it was $1995 for 20 hours.

You will be given 2 hours a day for training ( at their discretion ) of when your appointments will be. If you cannot make said appointment and do not give them 24 hours in advance you will owe $150. Once you get inside the truck you will be given 1 hr to learn 6 backing maneuvers. Then 1hr of pre-trip instructions where you simply sit inside a truck with another student and read a booklet and once that hr is up, you go home.

You will not be scheduled for school in a Mon, Tues, Wed, fashion. You will be scattered about meaning 1 week here, you might be scheduled for Monday the next time you attend school might be 2 weeks out. After that, you have totally forgotten any skill you might have acquired in that 1hr of training you had.

WHY? because at American scammer Truck driving school they are also funded by the Unemployment office WIOA and they pay more for schooling so their students take precedence over you and you WILL be pushed further behind. You will practice in old ragged Interstate trucks that do not and will not give you the skills that are needed to work in the real world.

You will not learn how to "Double Clutch" You will be at a disadvantage when job time comes because you were inadequately taught how to drive. You will simply learn just enough to look like an idiot at the DMV when you test. I'm sorry to play the race card but if you are NOT Mexican, Honduran, Guatemalan, or from any other Spanish country, then you will be taught less than your Spanish counterparts.

Don't believe me? Look at their Facebook....Notice the dominant race that holds all the certificates in the photos! Why? because they only cater to their own. The instructors have such thick accents, you will not understand them. The training at American Truck Driver school is sooo ill-named! It should be named "Mexican Truck Driver School" that would be more fitting. Ok, so you've made it to test day!

You waited a month for an appointment at DMV, your as nervous as cat on a hot tin roof and it's your time to show your stuff. BAM! you fail! now don't get me wrong i'm not into the big conspiracy thing here but.... Upon doing my airbrake in-cab inspection. I noticed that the seatbelt did not latch, no biggie! I told the DMV instructor and he said it was OK????? "how is this ok?

When i'm supposed to do my road test in this truck, driving in Cali with no seatbelt is illegal!!!" I thought, but ok! I noticed that the gas gauge was NOT working... I told him and he replied "I was at the gas station with the guy from the school and I know that there is fuel in it!".....WTF!!! sounds fishy to me! I started thing that they (ATDS) is paying DMV testers to fail you so that you would have to pay them more money! This school is a joke! you will not learn what you need to be successful, you will be frustrated and you will fail. Do your research.

I only read stellar reviews only to be let down by this school. Don't believe me? visit the school and ask them how they teach. Its an hour of driving and a mandatory hr of sitting in the truck with another student while he stumbles reading a pre-trip lesson. Your PRE-TRIP CAN BE LEARNED AT HOME! they rob you of an hour of learning at your expense so that they can get you to pay more when you fail at DMV!
