American Agencies shifty, shady, corrupt, illegal ripoff. My original $400 bill is now close to $800 because of their wrong-doing. Torrance California
My first contact with American Agencies was when I forgot to pay the remaining portion of an Pacific Bell phone bill in September 2001, and as soon as I received the notice, I mailed in a check to pay for it. They apparently lost my check, so I physically went down to their office and paid another check in person, and put a stop-payment on my first check. I come to find out that they had another account on me from Mobile Solutions for $400, I placed that account on dispute because I didn't owe Mobile Solutions any money.
I just ignored the collection from that point on and found out in June 2002 that American Agencies opened up another account for $270. So I contacted them and they told me I wrote them a bad check, I come to found out that the bad check was the 1st check I sent in to pay the Pac Bell bill, the check I put a stop payment on because it was lost. They tried to forward that check to my Mobile Solution account, and obviously it bounced. The $270 is a bad-check fee. I sent them the documents proving that I put a stop-payment on the account, and they told me it was too late and that I should have sent them the proof when the check bounced, but I had no idea that happened, the bank never informed me because it was a cancelled check.
Anyway, after all is said and done, my original $400 bill is now close to $800, and this is because of their wrong-doing. Now my credit rating is much lower, and I am having a hard time getting approved for credit! American Agencies has screwed me, and many others. I think it is time that we all get together and fight back!
