I was applying for a loan online to pay off some debt. I was contacted by Paul Russell of American Allied Financial Group and honestly don't know how they got my information because I did not apply on their website and had never heard of them. Mr. Russell told me I was approved for a $5000 loan even though my credit is very poor. He said in order for me to receive the loan, I had to send a $500 deposit by Money Gram to Lashawnda Lewis in Decanture, Georgia. I thought this was odd, but when you are desperate for the money, you'll do just about anything to get it.

I sent the deposit and was told that I would receive a call from Mike Brown in customer service the next day to confirm my bank account information so my loan could me deposited into my account in 24-48 hours. Mr. Brown never contacted me, so I had to get in contact with him.

After several attempts, he finally called me back. He said it would take 2-10 extra business days to process my loan because of some security issue. He said he would call me back when the issue was resolved. I never recieved a call. I finally got in touch with him again and was told that I was approved and my loan would me deposited into my account on a Friday. Needless to say, I never received the loan.

Now if you try and contact them, it says their voice mail boxes are full and cannot except any messages. There website no longer exists either. Now I have gotten behind on my bills and had to ask a relative for the money (which I didn't want to do in the first place). I still have all the paperwork that Mr.Russell e-mailed to me about the loan details. It really looks ligitmate.

But don't be fooled; this company is a scam. I don't understand how these companies can exist just to scam people out of their money. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau but feel the need to do something else. These people prey on people that really need help and are trying to get their finances back together. I want Mr. Paul Russell and Mr. Mike Brown to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. And I would also like my $500 back. These people need to get out and get a real job rather than scam hard working people for their money.

The BBB can't help you, because they aren't a real company.

Look them up in a phone book, or online, or phone information. They don't exist as a company.

You should go to the FTC website and file a complaint there. Search for "Advance Fee Loan". There's an article explaining what you can also do to try to help put these guys out of business, put them in jail, and maybe even get your money back.

And let everyone you talk to know that sending moneygram or Western Union is always a scam. Unless you know the person, wiring money is the same as setting it on fire.
