American Benefit linked to a "health insurance" company that is under investigation by several states, including Texas ripoff Nationwide
This firm called my mother and got her to give them her check# over the phone and then made an authorized withdrawal and charged her account for $398.00 for supposively $500 of discount coupons which she never received. We then discovered that that this is linked to a "health insurance" company that is under investigation by several states, including Texas.
We tried to stop the payment through our local bank but it was too late. We have filed our complaint with several agencies including the state attorney general's office.
We would like to know how many others have been caught in this "scam"? They seem to hit the elderly (mom's 87) living on their own. We were lucky to catch this we have changed her phone number to non-published and changed her bank account so, hopefully, this will not be repeated.
