Complaint Review: American Capital Strategies

Received approval July 2008 for loan in the amount of $5,000 through loan consultant Eric Cambell at American Capital Stragegies. Upon approval and follow up phone call to loan consultant, requested copy of contract (in full) prior to providing any further personal information. Received loan plan agreement, terms and conditions, policies and procedures, initial promissory note, disclosure statement and note and security agreement.

Signed all documents and provided copy of my drivers lisence and voided check for funds to be wired into account upon processing. Per loan terms, agreed to pay a security payment representing the first 7 months payments (total of $711.90), as requested thru private lender. Payment would then begin the 8th month at an 8% interest rate for five years.

Since returning contract & personal information, funds have never been deposited. Eric Cambell, loan consultant will not answer phone at 866-431-6318 Ext. 223, Web address has been "parked" and is no longer active. All email requests to previous emails received are returned "undeliverable".

I have lost $711.90 and am at risk for identity theft as they now have my personal information, drivers lincese and bank info.
