American Cash Awards Receiveds telephone call from alleged employee of Company saying that I ,had won Fresno, CA California
On January 20, 2014, I received a telephone call from a John Washington who identified himself as an employee of American Cash Awards. Mr. Washington claimed that I had won $5.1 million dollars plus $50,000 in cash plus a new Mercedes Benz car. In order to receive my prize I was instructed to buy a Green Dot MoneyPak in the amount of $350 from Walmart, scratch off the silver film covering the card number and to then call Mr. Washington and read off the card number to him. The card expressly states that "if anyone else [other than MoneyPak partners] asks for your MoneyPak Number or information from your receipt, it's a scam." I searched the Internet for American Cash Awards and learned that in the past 2 years there have been 60 consumer complaints against American Cash Awards for similar attempts to defraud the public. When Mr. Washington called me to see if I had purchased the MoneyPak card, I informed him on my research, he immediately hung up on me. Obviously, I did not purchase a MoneyPak card!!!
