Complaint Review: American Classifieds AKA The Thrifty Nickel

Interviewed on thursday, called back by co-publisher friday, and ask to quit my 8 mo old position on immediate notice to start monday as sales manager salary commissions bonuses. training to begin with sales mgr. in huntsville ala. given per diem/ lodging.

arrived mon. am to ride with huntsville sales mgr. talked about the company/opportunity/ nice folks or so I thought! tuesday rode with sale rep to see typical day, came back to conference room, identified office and staff as easy going most very friendly.

i was planning my stratedgy for chattanooga, and actually following a somewhat mirror image of the successful huntsville sales staff, I was singing in a normal tone as to hum or just keep my enthusiam no one in the room. "when i get that feeling i need sexual healing" i suppose someone heard, and called co-publisher, nothing was said to me, by anyone.

wednesday's was casual day, i had been in suit mon/tues their sales rep (men) jeans/golf shirts/boots/baseball caps/ wednesday i entered jeans, with a colorful shirt $50.00 of Betty Grable on front and back pictorial was short shorts, halter top bending over and smiling no breast, butt, nor nudity, after all we were to work in the office mainly conference room where i camped out. another call was made to co-publisher unbenonest to me! I found out i was going out on calls and explained to the rep i needed to change, i don't go on calls casually like this.

i went back and changed, upon returning, i received a call it was the nice positive co-publisher in chatta verbally abusing me on day 3 gd is this what we have to expect from you? yelling and screaming over the phone like i was some piece of trash. anyone could hear the obnoxious loud profanities iwas belittled to yes sir, i apologize after all this was to be my last position before retiring, after apologizing and accepted, i was stunned, not ask my side, not ask for explanation, like little tattletales,and then scorned, i was humiliated, then pissed because i was not allowed to explain. a lady ask my religion, and i said lutheran, she stated jokingly i supposed lutherans would not exist if luther had profolactics, she was catholic, and i responded jokingly lutheran doctrine believes the roman catholic church is the antichrist!

another call went out, again i was given no opportunity to respond. that evening i left ed several messages about how upset i was, he called and said don't worry, were think you'll do great things over here, and finally sounded like the guy i interviewed with again.

that evening i got robbed at gun point $87 wallet cell phone i had never had a gun put in my side not even viet nam. well i went to room called family, took some tylenol pm with some anxiety meds perscribed woke up 8:30 thursday arrived 8;50 called police/ called ed not there, but talked with other c0-publisher who was sympathetic, 15 min later ed called yelling i'mn not buying that, just get your things and come back to chattanooga i don't think we'll need you, i met at 4 thurs, and he said they were premature in there decision, and i could stay on board as sales rep/straight comm no salary, and reevaluate 60 days, i took the offer still not having filled out job app/ co policy, chatta reps did not report at any time, nor have specific time to return / all part of my job as sales mgr.

i rode with sales rep fri casual dress arrived 900 930 i was in shirt tie professional dress, as usuall to sell advertising which i did successfully for 20 years.

arrived mon 8;30 ask to fill out job app, and was leary about the app so i attached letter explaining events tues arrived 8;20 no other reps on board, and went on my own calls, wed made a call on the way arrived at 840 ed was there fm huntsville i got out said hello, tom were going to meet every am at 830 i responded positively, no other reps on board. made calls sold two deals late 530 600 20 milews away.

arrived 810 thurs, not allowed to enter bldg dismisssed from the job on fri received dismissal ltr / inapproiate behavior, language/ not following co policy no job no money, with family i'm furious still not given opportunity to discuss. I owned my own company in five yrs walked with 1.2 million, then lost it all in 2 years, plus some semiretired time hit workforce oct 2003 and fired for the first time in m;y life, these people have no idea of professionalism, character, credibiltiy. my religion was attacked i ask ed if he was catholic, and he said yes but that was not the issue bullshit!

My immediate income for my family is gone, and the job market sucks how rude, discourteous, and i'm looking for an attorney
