Complaint Review: American Company Supplies

My advice to anyone receiving a phone call from this company: Hang up immediatley. Do not even allow them to get one word in. They are extremely sleazy in their sales techniques.

It seems like such a blur to me how all of this started. I initially received a call saying my toner cartiridges were being sent out. I hadn't ordered cartridges from this company, but maybe they had called in the past and asked what we used & I turned them down. I did need cartridges at the time, so I agreed to try them. Somehow, by doing that I verbally agreed to buy a "lot of 12" as they referred to it. They would call & offer me more, along with a gift certificate for either Wallmart, Home Depot or JC Penney to offset the cost. Also, they will use those gift cards to their advantage when you question the cost or their antics. They'll say "Well you DID get those gift cards didn't you??" They will make you feel like they really are giving you a good deal.

I just wanted to end it so I agreed to finish off my order. After about 2 years of just paying for the minimum, I was told I had fulfilled my "obligation" and my order had been completed. I didn't get any calls......Until about 4 months ago. Apparently I had "yet to complete my order" and I had 12 left to purchase. How? Oh, they told me I had verbally agreed to it. Just as I was verbally told my order was complete long ago - they say I verbally agreed to finish my order of 12. I was stupid enough not to get it in writing. When I asked them where I signed a commitment to buy this many cartridges - they simply say it was a verbal agreement.

I urge everyone to stay far away from this company. Do not even allow them to get a word in. I have nothing positive to say about them.

I have never once allowed myself to be scammed - EVER. And for the first time, I am embarassed to say - I have been ripped off.
