Hello
I have been Using ACA for the last couple of years. I have continually told them that they needed to get a website payment function so making payments would be more convient and faster. So after a year of doing this they finally did. I started to fill out the information and when I got the the end I noticed a $10.00 fee to make a payment. I called and asked what is this. All I got was they charge a fee to use the site or make a payment over the phone. Mailing your payment is FREE. I said are you kidding! No one charges a fee to receive money just because they feel like it. They presented no reasons for this on the website or in the phone conversation with the customer service. I was just so angry. It is just GREED!! plain and simple. I am making a payment between 3 to 5 hundred dollars and they want to charge me an additional 10 dollars. I felt this to be taking advantage of people who just want to make a payment. Anyway I feel this is wrong and fraudulent for they have not mentioned any reasonable reason for doing this.

Thank you for your time

You need to understand one thing. It is not a must if everyone does it but not you or one other. Please get out of that mind set when you think that other companies do this then this one must follow. It is not necessary. This type of assumption could turn into a slippery slope fallacy.

To compare with your situation, the company finally introduce a new payment method via their website and they may charge fees because it is their right to do so. Other companies do not charge fees because they do it as their courtesy and hope this would give them more business. It is NOT a law that everyone must follow.

Therefore, if they want to charge, it is within their right. Greedy? May be, but it is for sure not a rip off.
