American Credit could have almost got me, Thanks Rip-Off Report for the heads up Tampa Florida
Thanks everyone, for the heads up. I have heard of this company before, even recieved cards from them before and always tossed them. This time I actually called. What a joke. I did speak with a supervisor after trying unsucessfully to get information from the representative concerning the nature of the offer. Both kept emphasizing that without all of my information they could not tell me what the offer was exactly. My pessimistic nature ruled, and after talking with the supervisor, advised them I would check out the company and get back to them.
The funny part is, the supervisor even suggested ways to check them out that I had not previously thought of. The first thing I found when I started looking was this site, and sure enough, I was correct in my assumption of what this offer was. There is an explanation on the BBB of the company, and there is also a place to file a complaint if you wish to go that route. Thanks again. Here's to hoping that others find this site before being sucked in!

I got a card in the mail on August 17,2002 saying i have been approved for a platinum credit card with a credit line of $4000 and this may be your final notification.so i did what anybody would have done i call and ask them what kind of credit card it is.He said he would explain after he gets all the information he needs from me because they have different program.So he ask for my name, birthday and my bank name and there address so my husband told me not to go any futher unless they told me what kind of credit card it is. so i ask him again and he told me the same things over again.So thank God for my husband who said this might be a scam and i went to my computer to look them up and sure enough it was true.So to all of you good luck with getting you money back and MAY GOD BLESS.
