On July 5, 2002 I too received a postcard from American Credit Solutions informing me I had 72 hours to claim my credit card with a $4000 limit. I was suspicious right away - let it sit on my desk - then decided July 8 to call and find out what this was about.

As other reports stated, they asked numerous personal/financial questions, talked very fast, were short with you if you asked them to slow down or explain anything.

When she got towards the end of spiel - and told me the cost for the marketing package ($199) of which 3 payments would be automatically withdrawn from my bank account --- I really started to ask the questions. Why so much? But was told the $199 would be refunded to me through gift certificates but would not state for where. I immediately said "No thank you" but was questioned on why I would turn down such a great deal - $4000 starting limit and raising to $7500 after the second payment, no interest and a unlimited long distance cell phone valued at $100.. STRONGLY stated no thank you and hung up.

When hanging up, I wondered with the information I had given here; bank, SSN, etc. what type of trouble can they cause with that information? I definitely will be watching my bank account. Any ideas on what the information could be used for even though I told them I am not interested in their service???

DEFINITELY WATCH-OUT FOR THIS COMPANY.

With the information you provided them they can charge your account any time, repeatedly under different name with different amount...

For the future. If you get any offer in mail FIRST research the offer on the Internet....
If you cannot find anything about them it means big trouble. Post a question here, before calling them, sending them anything.

ANY offer asking upfront fee for a garanteed credit line is scam....
