American Credit Solutions sent a postcard offering what appeared to be a $4000 platinum, unsecured credit card. We called and learned from 'Felicia' explained that ACS did not offer a credit card directly, but provided a service that could help us get a low interest credit card. We have two credit cards already and only wanted to switch to the low interest one.

She then attempted to sell us a voice mail and Roadside Service that we declined since we already have those services as well. She then told us that "we had to sign up for the free trial in order to get the ACS offer; but that we could cancel when we received paperwork in mail. She also said that our account would not be debited until the 24 May, 2002. However, subsequent investigation found that she processed the order the same day and an unauthorized debit was charged to our account on 22 May, 2002.

VoiceVox paperwork came in mail and Cathryn cancelled it on their automated service. VoiceVox placed an unauthorized debit of $14.95 on our account anyway. When we called them, we were told they could not refund our money. A supervisor later gave us a bogus address to send a complaint to and letter came back. Roadside service paperwork never came and another unauthorized $99.00 was debited against our account. We called to cancel and were told we could not get a refund because the paperwork was sent to the correct address although we never got it. One of ACS' reps admitted that this was a common problem with Hartford and VoiceVox and that they had many complaints.
Cathryn am disabled and we do not have the time for this kind of mess. We are making a trip to FLorida in August to take our daughter to college. Perhaps a visit to these places is in order. Perhaps the President and his brother would be interested in the deceptive, rip off practices of these companies in his brother's state. Whatever else we can do, please let us know. Thanks.

Go to your bank, report the fraud, fill out a dispute form. They can get your money back. Most of the banks are more than familiar with "American Credit Solution" and similar scams.

Do it as fast as you can, you have limited time to dispute the charges (30 or 60 days).

CLOSE your bank account, request a new one. Otherwise these guys will charge you again and again under different names.

(You will not find much in Florida, other than a mailbox. ACS based in Canada. For more infomation you can call PhoneBusters - the Canadian national deceptive telemarketing call centre, operated by the Ontario Provincial Police. 1-888-495-8501
