I have used American Crew products in the past and thought that they were excellent products.

Around the end of November 2004 I decided to purchase a bottle of spray hair gel. Several days later, from the first time that I used it, the spray nozzle has been defective. It doesn't "fan out" the spray like it should, but instead just sprays a stream.

I emailed the only email address listed for American Crew from the website on 12-04-04 and told them how I like the product, but I bought a bottle with a defective spray nozzle. I requested another nozzle.

On 12-28-04, I copy/pasted the same email along with a note informing them of the previous email that was ignored. Still nothing. Requested a replacement nozzle a second time.

Yesterday, 1-6-05, I called the 800 number and asked for customer service department. I was asked what the problem was. I informed her. She transfered me to the person that "handles the emails". Of course, I got her voice mail. I hung up.

I will try again today and if I don't get satisfaction, I am going to mail the unused portion (about 3/4 of the bottle) along with a letter to the President of American Crew stating that if his company cannot provide customer service, that I will never use/buy their products again and he can keep my unused hair gel. I will also inform him about this post and will inform 3 hair salon owners that I am friends with about my complaint.

This complaint isn't about the $8 that I spent on the product, but just the principle of the matter. I expect excellent customer service and I don't feel that I recieved it from American Crew.

Hello!!! Take the spray nozzle off and run it under hot water to unplug it. That should have been just common sense. Happens all the time also with hairsprays because of the sticky texture. I am a hairstylist so trust me.
