Their Customer Support Line for AE Clear Card, American Eagles Charge Card, is based in some foriegn country. The majority of the call center speak poor english at best.

I sent a check from the wrong account and when I called to have them void the check and pay by Credit Card they said they couldnt do that and that they didnt take payments over the phone.

The only way to pay by phone would be if the account was past due, at which point they add 20-50 dollars in late charges and interesgt fees. The company is living in the dark ages of customer service and making money off it.

You cannot blame a company for your own inadequacies. Perhaps if you had gotten your ducks in a row and used the right account to begin with, none of this would have ever happened in the first place! And if you so greatly dislike this company based on this one unfortunate experience, perhaps you should use a different credit card or stick to paying with cash.
