AEP has been giving permission by the Corporate Commission to charge a new deposit on your accout if you pay your bill late 2 time's in a 12 month period.

When trying to work this out with them they are rude and refuse to transfer you to a supperviser and tell you if you don't pay your full ammount we will turn off your electric untill payed.

AEP has been in the media over this and has a monopoly on this in 12 states they say they can do what ever they want because they have the permission to by the Corporate Commission.

I agree with the original report.  I have had nothing but trouble with csr from them.  They know that they have no competition and can do what they want.  Even if you are late and have never been cut off they will give you a deposit to pay and tell you there is nothing you can do about it.

as a laid off from 2003 employee i seriously doubt the problems you were having were the Oklahoma/texas/lousiana area.... as this part of AEP is the pre AEP CSW area and untill merger this area had the best customer service in the utility biz worldwide.

If in this area, I doubt your report is legit.

First off, AEP/PSO is not a monopoly. if it were many of the muni utilities and OG&E would not exist.

Plus PSO/AEP will work with a customer to help get bills current and retain the power. Plus since all calls are recorded it is unlike that they would not have refered you either to supervisor, or for that matter if a csr was rude, he could easily be fired for that.

From my own experience at PSO/AEp/CSW and also my customer service experience pre & post AEP. I doubt this person is telling all about his problem with PSO.

Though I was programmer at AEP, I was intimately familar with the customer service at PSO and in general, and also had friends in position to know of your problem. I doubt this complaint is legit.

Having also been on the same end as you years ago, I also was late with bills (6 years before I worked with them) and both then & now and even 2003 they work with people who do not have a history of being late.

I wonder if you had any history of being late more often.
