Complaint Review: American Express

American Express - American Express Prepaid Card Will not allow me access to funds that they have transferred from my bank. Nationwide

I have been using the American Express prepaid card for two years. Their customer service has always been horrible, but I've kept the card for emergencies.

On 09/12/2104, I initiated a card reload via transfer of funds from my bank. When they were not available by 09/19/2014, I started calling customer service. At first, I was assured that they would be available at the end of the business day. They were not. Then, I was assured that they would be available by midnight. They were not. When I called today, I was told they had a computer outage since 09/12/2014, that NO prepaid cards were able to access bank transfer funds.

They have $250 that belongs to be and I still cannot access my funds. I have been told everything from the computers were down to my card was suspended (it was, but it was reactivated before the funds transfer, and you can load funds onto a suspended card anyway).

All I was is access to my money that is in the posession of American Express.
