On 12/21/13 an unauthorized charge was made on my account. American express Was contacted on 12/26/13 to dispute the charge. At which time I was told a form (affidavit) would be emailed to me & I would need to fax it back. Well I never received it! I called daily to inform them that no such email had been received. I even went ahead and supplied a standard affidavit disputing the charge (they claim to have never receieved it.) Well after calling numerous AMEX telephone numbers to try and get this form they state I need to send in. I finally got the form on 1/9/13 Around 8:30PM CT. Well after faxing my affidavit prior to this one several times I was reluctant to say the least on this one making it. And sure enough on 1/10/13 After faxing it in multiple times. They still never received it! So I wasn't trusting anymore and I sent it FedEx. It arrived to them on 1/11/13 But according to them 1/15/13 thank god for tracking! The issue is basic American Express is not honoring the card holder agreement.  It clearly states:

Tell us your name and Card number;Describe the error or the transaction you are unsure about, and explain as clearly as you can why you believe an error has occurred or why you need more information;Tell us the dollar amount of the suspected error or unauthorized transaction; and Tell us approximately when the error or unauthorized transaction took place. We will determine whether an error or unauthorized transaction occurred within 10 business days after we hear from you and will correct any error or unauthorized transaction promptly. If we need more time, however, we may take up to 45 days to investigate your complaint or question. If we decide to do this, we will credit your account within 10 business days for the amount you think is in error or relates to an unauthorized transaction, so that you will have the money during the time it takes us to complete our investigation. If you call us with your complaint or question and we ask you during that call to put your complaint or question in writing, and we do not receive it within 10 business days, we may not credit your account. Complaints or questions submitted in writing should be mailed to American Express, Card Dispute Form, 4315 S 2700 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84184 - 0440...

Today's date is 2/6/13 I have yet to receive a credit and when you speak to a rep (doesn't matter if there a supervisor or not) They respond with "it can take up to 6-8 weeks to investigate a claim." Fine with me, My agreement say's that you will credit me if you are going to take that long. I have yet to get a response as to why I am not credited. And the reps here don't help some of them that I spoke to even went as far as to say "Sir that's 45 business days." Okay now I know they've lost there mind. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY THEY TREAT YOU LIKE CRAP AND THEY HONESTLY DON'T CARE. The customer service number for all intents and purposes is an answering service with absolutely no power to assist any customer.  Every single rep I have spoken to literally has changed what they say every single time I have spoken to them. I am posting this so that consumers are aware your not safe your not protected and your taking a major gamble with your money.
