As everyone knows from the financial channels, American Express is losing money every quarter. In order to increase their slumping revenues, American Express decides to delay posting of your payments until AFTER the due date! What I say is true. American Express customers beware. Here is my story:

I sent a payment to American Express Membership Banking in Midvale, Utah. I normally pay the majority of my bills online. But with this particular entity of American Express, online payments are not an option. Five bills were mailed from the same mailbox to distances further than Utah going toward the West Coast (I am from the East Coast - NYC). Four out of the five checks were cashed within 5 days. American Express' payment had 20 days to reach them as I mailed my check the same day I received the statement. I called approximately 10 days later to inquire about my payment. NASTY!!!! The CSR wanted to hand me right over to collections - I wasn't even considered late at that point. The payment due date didn't even pass!

American Express should provide daily reminders to their employees that if it were not for the customers, they would have no jobs! I even emailed my thoughts to them about delayed payment postings. I only received a standard response. I have now accrued $75.00 in late charges because of this. Each time a statement comes in, I send another dispute letter to them. American Express should be called France Express.

They do not care about their customers here in the U.S. Take my word for it! I will next seek the assistance of the NYS Attorney General and the NYS Banking Department. Start sweating American Express because you have stirred up a most docile lady who now seeks revenge for what you are doing to your customers. What's next - are you going to raise my Platinum Optima APR because of your deceptive practicies that make me look delinquent? Don't try it. 830 FICO score. No deadbeat here.
