American Express scam San Diego California Internet
I signed up with American Express Platinum credit card services over 3 years ago. I chose them because they offered an unlimited balance and all sorts of other benefits. I have been completly happy with the services until recently. I run my own business and use the credit card for the ease of accounting.
Today, American Express arbitrarily decided to decline a $5,700 charge from one of my vendors. This made my company look bad. When I called to see why the transaction was declined, the representative told me it was an unusual charge and they would accept the charge if I sent American Express $3,000 because my balance was over $10k.
Mind you, I usually carry a balance between $20-$30k and pay the balance off monthly. Looks like the credit crunch is getting to American Express, too. Treating a loyal and credit worthy customer like this is absurd and bad business. As of today, I have cancelled my credit card and am no longer associated with this company.
