Complaint Review: American Freight Vestal NY

All the Big Ad's that we have been viewing on TV, figured we'd give it a shot.  Drove to the store on Front Street in Vestal NY and took a look at some stuff we have been in the market for to re-do our rec room.  Found the perfect couch and chair set. 

After talking with sales, they said they did not have in stock but had another set, almost the same for a few hundred more.  Claimed they had in stock.  Okay.  But the thing is that I may be older but with age comes being more wise to rip offs who set up shop for a short period of time.

So this sales guy wants me to pay 1300$ and promised it would be delivered that afternoon.  Business as usual for me, I told him I wanted to SEE the set before paying.  He then gave me the old BS line that it was at the warehouse in Syracuse.  RED FLAG #1.  So I told him to get it at this store and call me when it arrived.  I'd bring my truck down and if we liked it as he said I'd pay for it and take it home.  He claimed that would not be possible because they dispatch deliveries from the Syracuse Location.  RED FLAG #2.

Now there are 2 RED FLAGS put up within a 5 minute conversation.  Do I look like I was born yesterday and popped out with a head of gray hair?  NOT. 

We Left.  Am contacting the BBB first thing Monday Morning along with the Broome County District Attorney and filing a complaint.
