We are another victim of American Heritage Homes poor quality craftsmanship. We didn't listen to others who told us that American Heritage Homes was a ripoff company, and went ahead with building the most expensive model they offered in our subdivision "Meadow View".

We moved into our defective, and poorly finished American Heritage Home in January of 2004, and have been dealing with this hellish company for over a year and half at this point. We added a small fortune in options, and figured since we were spending so much with them, they would make sure our home was well built. We soon noticed that many things we selected in our final build sheet were either not being included, or being done very poorly.

We took photos every other day, even though it required a 32 mile round trip. Each time we reported problems such as warped 2x4s, warped walls, wrong type of windows, wrong type of doors, unconnected vents that lead nowhere, and many defective, or poor quality procedures to our sales person. He was very responsive, and we expected everything would be fixed, but the construction supervisor just ignored all requests to resolve these issues.

We then turned to Tim Martin, VP of Construction, and he seemed somewhat concerned. After a few meetings with Tim, and things were still not getting resolved, we contacted Mike Whalen, then CEO of American Heritage Homes. Mike also seemed concerned at first, but after helping with a couple concerns just started to ignore the fact that our home was proceeding with major defects not being addressed. Their response was that we would never be satisfied!

Finally we put up our web site and things started to get done again. We told Tim Martin that the site would come down as soon as repairs were completed. When repairs were not being completed as promised, we continued to ask when they would start on projects that we had work orders for. Tim then said that he would send us an agreement to sign. A couple months later we received a letter from their attorney, and an offer for about 1/5 of what it would cost to repair our home. The demands were that we remove our web site, accept their offer, or suffer their legal wraith.

We never wanted any money, or law suits, we only wanted a quality home that we paid very good money for. At this point, we have hired a very competent attorney, and have been in legal limbo at our expense for many months. DO NOT BUILD WITH THIS COMPANY!

Does anyone has any type of updated contact information for this company? I have tried to call every number I found and they have all been disconnected.
