My husband was incarcerated in Sept 08. I called AHMSI in Oct to make arrangements to make the mortgage payments, because of his incarceration I could not make full payments. I was told I could not make partial, they had to be full payments, even though I wanted them to know I was atleast making an effort to keep up with it.

I managed to make payment in Nov, and Dec got paid in Jan. I ran into a lot of health issues and missed Jan & Feb. On March 09, 2009 they had sent me a letter of intent to forclose, act 91 notice, to my old address, because they refused to mail to my PO Box. I received it finally at the PO Box on March 16. I immediately called upon receipt of the letter. I was trying to reach the extention on the letter, to find out it didn't even exsist, nor the names that were on the letter. Ext 41999, Trivonda Porter, Sara Haliko, and Selena Moore are the names and extention listed on the act 91, yet there is no one working at ahmsi by those names.

After throwing a fit because no one was able to give me any answers, I was finally transfered to loss mitigation. I spoke with Brian. Asked why what was in the escrow could not be used to catch up the mortgage, explaining that if it went into forclosure, that is what they would do anyway. I was transfered to the tax dept to see how much of the escrow was going to be used for tax payment. It was at that point that I had found out that they were paying our back taxes, scheduled to be paid the first week of April. I had already made a $1600 payment toward my back taxes on March 9, 2009 which I told them I had made, they asked me to fax them a copy of the check and a copy of the bill the county tax office had sent me. I did so on March 18. On or around March 20, they sent payment of all back taxes including the $1600 I had already paid.

No one in all the calls I had made from Oct 08 till today, April 22, 2009, said anything about them paying any/all of my back taxes. Had someone, even in the tax dept told me that they were paying back taxes, I could have used the $1600 to catch up my mortgage payments. My county tax office said it would take 4-6 weeks from March 19th, for the mortgage co to get back the $1600 because of them receiving my payment first, the second payee would receive the refund, thus ahmsi would get it back. I called the county office yesterday to find out when it would be sent, the said ahmsi would have the check the first week of May.

When I called yesterday to make a mortgage payment, I was told my home is in forclosure, they could not take the $900 payment I wanted to make. After speaking to an attorney, who told me to call again today and ask for a mitigator, I called, only to be told now instead of just having to pay $3018 (which was the amount on april 21) it is now $7548.77, because it is in forclosure.

Had they told me at some point in all the phone calls, which were weekly to let them know how I was doing on getting money together, that they were paying my back taxes, I would not even be behind right now, I would be paid right up to date.

I was so frustrated today, I can't even remember whom I spoke with that had said, "we don't have to inform you of paying back taxes"

It will be a cold day in hell before I let those stupid idiots take my home. I will file for bankruptcy before i will give it to them. I will fight until the very end... When they give me my $1600 first so I can hire an attorney to fight them

If anyone has a choice to do business with anyone other than ahmsi, please do so, they will take your home away from you faster than you can blink an eye, and only keep making it harder for you to do anything to keep it.

A few things I forgot to mention

Just a few things I forgot to mention because of all the stress of this. When I finally got to speak with someone that spoke english, I was told I had until July to get it caught up, instead I didn't even have a month, most likely about 2 weeks. Also, I had gotten the run around for over 3 hours just to speak with someone that spoke english. Antwon was very helpful and understanding, but everything he had told me, like I had until July, that I would still be able to make payments as long as they were a full payment, that they would work with me to get it all caught up, none of which were true. He also told me that the tax refund could be put right toward the balance as soon as they got it, well now that they put it in forclosure, it isn't enough to pay it up to date, so it will be returned to me, this will take even longer. How do they expect someone who has fallen behind to ever get caught up with all the fees they keep adding and won't take any type of payment unless it is full amount owed?

Every person I had spoke with, with the exception of Antwon was very rude and disrespectful. It gets you so frustrated you just want to reach through the phone and smack them up alongside the head once, just to see if they are human.
