Paying fees for insurance to AHS is a waste of money. No we are not all stupid, we have faith in our Government to stop a Company that is taking our hard earned money.

After paying fees for several years we finaly needed to have our Airconditioner repaired. Thinking great, we have been paying the fees for several years to cover such an event. For the last 3 years we have spent from 14 days to 30 days each summer with no airconditioner. Just about all the small temporary repairs they could make were done and it fails again in 2008. Same problem, however, the company sent to repair the unit indicated our house ducts/vents were too small and we keep tripping the over pressure switch. This house is 25 years old and this is the second unit that was installed on this home. AHS will not authorize anyone to repair our failed unit unless I pay $1000.00 to increase the vent size. After several days without A/C I received the second opinion I was requesting.

The next company finds improper wiring and fixes that problem and the system is up and running for a few days, still needing additional work. The second contractor indicates AHS must approve the additional repairs. AHS wants to send a third company or the first to do any repairs. They will not allow the second compay to do any additional work.

After numerous calls explaining our problem and being place on hold for hours with no help, I indicated we have a breach to our contract, AHS indicates we have no breach and the first company is the only one that can do the repairs.

The contractors must do what AHS requires or they loose additional service calls and the fees we must pay.

As others have indicated, a class action lawsuit on AHS would be great. It will also stop AHS from taking advantage of other home owners.
