AHS refused to cover repairs alleging manufacturer defect. The appliance manufacturer was contacted and determined that the repair was not a manufacturer defect as alleged by AHS contractor.

On 4/29/16 property manager at covered residence placed a service call request for a GE refrigerator repair (leaking water from the bottom). AHS dispatched All Brands Appliance Repair Service contractor. Contractor denied the repair alleging refrigerator had a inside crack (manufacturer's defect) not covered by AHS contract, provisions F2 and F9. Due to the potential damage to the floor, Landlord contacted the manufacturer (GE) and shared AHS contractor's finding. GE found the allegation was unfounded. GE replaced the Fresh Food Fan Motor (covered in the AHS Contract) and refrigerator was repaired. I called AHS on 6/1/16 to request reimbursement of the GE charges for the covered part and AHS refused to reimburse alleging that I was required to request a 2nd opinion--which I was not aware of. AHS should be held liable for this covered repair for dispatching a contractor not GE qualified to accurately diagnose and repair the GE appliance.  Bottom line, AHS has a practice on declining major appliance repairs alleging items that are not covered in the contract.  If they would have send out a GE authorized contractor, they would have made the proper diagnosis and repaired the refrigerator but AHS' deceived practice is designed to scam you out of money and find any loop hole not to pay the claim.
