Complaint after complaint from neighbors and myself. My neighbors refrigerator was having a problem, and she has the extended coverage from AHS which is supposedly to cover her refridgerator, well she called AHS they of course sent someone to take a look at it only to be told it was the cooling coil and they replaced it. needless to say a couple days later the same problem was happening, she called AHS they sent another company to take a look at the problem and she was told. THERE IS TOO MUCH DUST AND DIRT and I can't fix it. well this just sent us over the edge. They said that because she didn't maintain it, they could not fix or even want to take a look at the problem.

So WE cleaned out the dust and dirt and now the fridge works just fine. SO why did she have to pay $55.oo? We called and spoke to a representative, got no where with them, asked for a surpervisor, and after a few minutes on the phone with them, THEY HUNG UP on us.

Now another neighbor of mine was having a problem with her water heater. called AHS, they sent out a plumber and she was told, that they had to change the heating coil. which they did. and after $55.00 it still doesn't work, then she called back another plumber came out and told her that they won't replace the water heater unless it was leaking, and if they replaced it, there would be an out of pocket expense of $400.00 for upgrading the unit to Nevada Code.

Now you tell me, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? so once again, time after time, it's all the same story. it can't be fixed because your appliance wasn't properly maintained. I just can't believe that this company is still in business with all of the complaints that have been made against them. And if there is a class action lawsuit please include me in the law suit. This company is so out of control, with their fees, inadequate service and the contractors they send to do the jobs. It's like they are all in this together.

It's one big scam! Shame on American Home Shield for the lies and deceit regarding their contracts and the items you think are covered. SHAME ! SHAME! SHAME! on them.

You admit that thier was no mechanical failure to the unit. It was just being smothered by dirt. Customers are told to keep thier appliances maintained. ITS IN THE CONTRACT. The service tech could not clean it for free, and it is not covered. The $55 was for his time and knowledge. He was right. SHAME on you for not understanding how things work in the world. We are a subcontractor for AHS. We have many of our own customers who do not have warranties and pay out of pocket. We would have offered to clean the frig out for a cost. Don't you believe that people should get paid for the work they do?
