American Home Shield ripoff- not worth the money! deceptive company Carroll Iowa
You know, for the amount of money you pay for a Home
Warranty policy, you whould think you would get better service than you do. I went on the AHS web page to send off a service to have my A/C fixed (It's June by the way.. kinda WARM).
I received an email back stating that a company was selected and that they would give me a Call. The next day I received a call from the company and they said they could have someone out between 10 and 2 on Friday. (It was only Wednesday morning
I said.. gee, thats kinda long, is there anyway of getting someone here sooner? They said that I might contact AHS and see, so I called and gave them the info, and said that the company they selected could not be out until Friday. They said, that does fall into the alotted time and that there was nothing they could do.
Now I thought, well I could pick up and abandon my house
and stay by a friends house, or even better spend MORE money and stay at a hotel. Or just not give any more money to thes jerks and put it away myself for those certain things that tend to break down at all the wrong times. If you need something Fixed!! You need it FIXED now.. not 3 days or longer
from now. SO.. just take that money and save it yourself,
Pick your own contractors, You will be much happier! Stay away from AHS! They will do everything to take your money and nothing to help ya out.

Contractors are Humans Too

WHen you call most a/c contractors during the summer you are not going to get same day service. The summers are the busiest time and they get to you when they can. We are not in business to not make money. I would love to get everyone the same day in a perfect world.
We do try and get to the people with only 1 a/c. You would be suprised at the amount of people with 2 or more a/c's that insist on same day service. The elderly get the highest priority with us.
I have been a contractor with AHS for over a year now. If you dont think they keep us on our toes you are dead wrong. It's the realtors that are selling these contracts and telling people all you have to pay is service fee and everything else is covered.
READ your contracts before signing. For a few dollars more there are some ones that cover almost everything you have. It is also your job to properly maintain your equipment. And remember, We are humans too and do make mistakes. Everyone wants the service tech to be God and never make a misdiagnosis or anything.
