I bought my CRV new in 2001. I Always have had it serviced by Honda dealer.

Orange light came on I immediately took it to dealer. I was told it would need a new head. The exhaust valve receded into the head. My CRV has 52,000 on it.

I was told my Honda that they would not repair it.

Honda does have a bulletin regarding this issue with the CRV's but the consumer is on their own when something happens.

I know it is amazing to you that a four or five year old vehicle with 50k miles could have a problem...but ever wonder why most manufacturers put a 3 yr/36k mile warranty on their cars? Drive by a car dealer, Toyota, Honda, Mercedes, whatever; see that large part of the building in the back? It's called the service department and there is a reason it is the largest and most profitable part of the dealership. Four year old machines break on occasion; yes, even Hondas. Also, i bet when you bought your car you scoffed at the finance manager when he offered you the extended service program. My solution for your problem is to stop whining and get the car fixed, and next time get the extended warranty.
