Complaint Review: American Leisure - Easy Saver

Just as was described by another indidual, I was coaxed into this scam through a respected company I was once a member of. This actually caused me to cancel my membership with Thompson Cigar Company.

A pushy salesman of theirs coaxed me into American Leisure/Easy Saver when I called to order cigars. I told the man four times that I did not want to sign up, but he was insistent that I should try it. "We want all of our customers to experience the advatages of this great deal."

He described it as a one time 1$ fee and a 14.95 monthly fee thereafter until I cancelled. He said that if I didn't want the service, I would be receiving a package soon and I could cancel through them. I figured it would be easier to deal with them so I finally said okay.

I have never received a package or any other transpondance from them and the 14.95 charges have been coming. Calling their number on the credit card statement leads to automated cancelling systems that don't work. You cancel and then a month later the 14.95 charge comes. I've disputed it through my credit card company but I got a statement in the mail today with the 14.95 charge on it.

Avoid them at all costs.
