On Feb.28.2005 I order a set of a custom sportbike rims, and never recieved them. My estimated time of delivery was 3-4 weeks,to my disapointment it's been close to a year and i have not recieved them or recieved my deposit back.

I was dealing with the sales manager (Corey B. Soper) who assured me that i would recieve the rims in a timely fashion, bull ! not only did they not send the product they kept my money. I recieved a call from Maria, who i guess works for that ripoff company about a month ago ,stateing that the company was sending me a check for my refund, bull ! once again.

I called reapeatly to get a voicemail that was full I even emailed them to recieve back a message saying their mailbox is also full. I happenend to be looking in a bike magazine and notice that a company by the name of custom sportbike concept have their logo, and are selling their rims.

I called them and fould out that american metal works went out of business, it was kinda a funny that this company is using thier logo and selling their rims. CUSTOMERS BEWARE !

I am Cory, the previous sales manager for AMW. I represented the company with all the best intentions, until one day when I was terminated on the spot. The company then shut it doors, and as of today, I have not received all that was due me. I can only say... I tried my best and truly have no idea what happened to the company, as to why they closed. Sales were good, and we were shipping up to the day I was dismissed.

I sought my legal counsel to seek what was due me... you should too.

This response is being provided by the media relations company for Custom Sportbike Concepts.

Custom Sportbike Concepts was a retailer for American Metal Works, Inc - aka AMW wheels, but in no way had any financial interest or management in AMW. Custom Sportbike Concepts did not have any dealing with the complainant. We feel for you, as Custom Sportbike Concepts and many others have been damaged by AMW.

Your order was NOT with Custom Sportbike Concepts, therefore we have no responsibility for the errors of another company... namely AMW. An example, it would be similar if Coke was to sell you soda direct and not deliver, there would be no reason to slander or falsely accuse Kmart, a retailer of Coke, for wrong doing. This example, as in your case, relates to separate and unrelated companies that did not engage in any business with you, so I am not sure why you would mention Custom Sportbike Concepts in your report.

Simply stated, when a company goes out of business, as it appears AMW did, usually there are businesses and consumers who get sucked into their problems. All we can do is suggest that you seek the appropriate legal advice for the remedies that would best fit your case.

One thought for the future... consider buying from a larger retailer or local shop, such as Custom Sportbike Concepts so that you have recourse with several companies. If you did buy your wheels through Custom Sportbike Concepts, then we would be responsible for your refund, and our reputation speaks for itself... we surely would have been there for you. Our business continues to grow since our beginning in 1990.
