We hired American Platinum Financial Services to assist us in modifying our home loan after months of trying to do it ourselves and not getting anywhere. They looked over our paperwork and felt confident that they could get us a home loan modification. APFS assigned us a representative to assist us and away we went. Over the next 16 months we were assigned 10-15 other people to service our loan at APFS - each time making us start the process over again.

Perhaps more frustrating than anything else was that many of these representatives told us the modification was approved and we should be recieving paperwork from Bank of America any day now...it never came.

Finally, after months of waiting the Bank contacted us directly and denied us a modification. APFS had written in their contract that if we were denied by the bank, that we would recieve a refund in full ($2,000). We even had a representative at APFS call us and tell us that we would recieve a refund.

After 2 weeks of waiting for a refund and emailing back and forth, APFS contacted us and told us taht they don't 'just give out refunds.' We have since decided to short sale our house.

Do NOT use this company. You could do it better yourselves...
