Complaint Review: American Platinum Financial Services

I received a letter from American Platinum Financial Services stating that they could help me get a loan modification. Since I have exhausted all other avenues and was behind on my mortgage, I called to see if they could help.Felix V was very convincing, stating that the company could help get my payment decreased any where from two to five hundred dollars per month.  He told me the fee and said that although he could not financially advise me, he suggested I not pay my house payment so that I could pay their fee and I would get loan modification in 90-120 days.  I borrowed the money and they immediately drafted my account.  I provided all of the paperwork that was asked of me, promptly. 

Faith D, my "representative", said that she and Jason, my "processor" would contact my bank and work out a resolution.  My banker called me and told me he would not work with them, that he would work with me personally to keep me in my house, and had told APFS that also. I called Faith and emailed her about getting my money refunded. She said that she didn't see that being a problem since it was neither my fault or theirs that my lender would not work with them.  I then received a call from Cathy who said they are definitely keeping 900 dollars for "processing" and if I could prove that my lender will modify my loan, they will consider refunding the rest.  They have done nothing for me, I did all of the work, and they feel 2 phone calls justifies keeping my money. They are the ultimate thieves and scam artists!!!
