Complaint Review: American's Service Station

I went to American's Service Station, because my check coolent light was on. I told them it needed coolent. Doug (the manager) said that they found fluid in the cartage or something like that. He also said that they needed to do a pressure test on it.

So, my son and I went to eat while they did it. They called me saying that my head gasket was cracked. Also, it would take them two days to fix it and $800 total. I told them not to touch it and I would be right there.

So, I called my original car service person and told them. My sister called my brother and told him. So, my original car service place quoted me $566 if that is what was wrong with it. My brother said the same amount.

So, I told them to give me my keys and I was leaving. I went to my original place and they fully checked my car over again. They did every test possible on it and everything showed up in good condition. So, nothing was wrong with my car.

My original place said that I wasn't the first person they did that too. Also, they told me to go here and I would probably find thousands of reports on them ripping everyone off. So, that is why I'm here writing this report. That way they won't do it again.

If you have to then find out for yourselves. They will screw everyone over in a heartbeat. I was just lucky to have good sense and get a second and third opinion on it. I didn't get ripped off anymore than I was going to. I had to pay $17 for the pressure test. When my original place did it for free. American's Service Station is a major rippoff place to go get your car fixed and even looked at.
