saying I owe $420 by calling daily but will not give us address, phone # or the reason for the charges. They call everyday and say they will not quit

We have been harrassed for months by a company calling themselves American Solutions by a caller who says his name is Jason who says we owe money for something never ordered. He says he has the order on tape, but never can produce it. He calls daily at 9:00 AM EST and will not quit. I cannot find a web address and have asked him to send something in the mail, which he won't do. Has anyone else reported this problem and how do we stop it.

Dear Jonathan,

You are being harassed by a company (or more correctly, a group of companies) owned by one Pavlos Angelatos in Montreal, Quebec.

American Solutions Information is just the "collections" department of "World Wide Source" or "Ameri-source." These two entities solicit listings in a publication known as the "American Business Index," which is basically a worthless list of companies they've bilked. How they do it is call into your organization to "confirm" (or renew) a listing and then assert that you have "approved" your listing with them at a going rate of $399.95. They are extremely vague about your contractual relationship with them (which does not exist), but they always come back insisting you owe them more money.

They get rude, they are trained to get you flustered and reduce you to rage on the phone with them. Do not give in to this. Politely say you do not talk to them and hang up. Eventually they will get the message.

Send a certified letter asking them to produce a contract or leave you alone! Then report them for mail fraud. Report them to your state Attorney General. Then ignore them. They are so illegal in the way they operate! Read all the information this wonderful site has on them and you will be armed and confident. Remember that you possess the moral and legal high ground!
