Complaint Review: American Standard Auto Protection

American Standard Auto Protection ASAP , ASAP Warranty Denied our claim for having commercial plates on our vehicle (even though not used for commercial use, it is required by NYS DMV for weight of the vehicle), and when we contacted to cancel and get our pro-rated refund, they are not answering us back after numerous attempts. ASAP contract purchase: 3/28/16

Contract # 68798287

Claim # 416677319

1/22/18-I contacted ASAP to initiate a claim. Truck was towed to Dodge Dealership (Carbone, Utica, NY).

1/23/18-Cabone (Larry) contacted ASAP for approval. Transmission deemed broken, needs replacement. ASAP advised me via email that they need all the trucks service records.

1/29/18- I called ASAP, spoke with Paul (paulwilson@asapwarranty.com) they stated my service records email was rec'd on 1/26/18 and are being reviewed. I should get a call sometime tomorrow. I later received a call that the service records were illegible. My wife sent email of the service records.

1/30/18- I faxed the service records, and I also sent certified mail of all service records to ensure they received them. Later spoke to ASAP and confirmed they rec'd the email and fax, and the claim is being processed.

2/2/18-ASAP called and stated they are sending inspector Today or Monday.

2/6/18- Truck is being inspected today.

2/7/18-Truck was inspected by the inspector.

2/9/18- Female called from ASAP that claim is denied due to commercial plates on the vehicle. I told them that we do not use the truck commercially as stated in the policy, and that NYS DMV requires us to have commercial plates due to it's weight class. She told me I should have known and there is nothing I can do.

Since 2/10 we have called and rec'd no calls/emails/communication from ASAP. We have emailed paulwilson@asapwarranty.com , claims@asapwarranty.com , and jcalvo@asapwarranty.com . We have called and left voice message on the directors mailbox at ext. 8920.  We get sent immediately to the answering service every time we call. We have filed a claim with the Federal Trade Commission and Consumer Affairs. This is a scam company and we would like this company prosecuted.
