Complaint Review: American Standard Services Aka American Standard Financial

I received a phone call from a company that has the title American Standard Services. She claims this is a timed conversation. i kept her on the for 20 minutes when it was to last only 8 minutes. I gave my Bank numbers and she in turn referred me to her verifier. The verifier came on line and stated she need my full name, address and date of birth. Also she asked for my bank information. I hesitated and went immediately to the Better Business Bureau website and requested a search on there name. BBB came up with no claims on them. The website referred me to a Canadian Scam link. That is how I found out they are out of Barbados. I asked the verifier where she was and she stated if you have questions ask before she starts the tape recorder. I asked where she was and she said PA. I said Pa, why does the BBB list you as being Barbados, and she replied do I sound Barbadian and I said you sound Carribbean to me. She told me again she was starting the tape and this time she asked the same info including would I allow them to debit my checking account for $359.19 I hesitated again and finally I said no and she became angry and stated she was starting the tape again. I said no I will authorize you to debit my account on 9/19/07. She immediate hung up and I contacted my bank for further instructions. These people need to be exposed to the public because once they have your info they can do whatever they want and we can't do anything because it is an international organization running a scam. I learned my lesson.
