The biggest crooks. They do not want me ordering contacts from another, cheaper company so they stalled around until my prescription expired. They blatantly lied about my prescription. They told Vision Direct that I never came in for a follow-up and my prescription was no good, when Vision Direct faxed a verification request. And I did come in for the follow-up.
Then when I called the store out on that, they said "well the doctor first thought the lens that you are ordering is not interchangeable with America's Best; Sofmed brand, "But, then she realized it was." Then the store tried saying they TALKED to Vision Direct on the phone and told them that. Okay, when? They will not tell me when.
They will not give me copies of these so called fax communications between them and Vision Direct. They said they don't think they have them. Who throws away official records? I told Americas Best when they called me within 5 minutes of Vision direct sending the first verification that I was told the prescription should be fine since Sofmed is interchangeable with Clearsight.
America's Best told me they knew that and I would need to take that up with Vision Direct, it is up to them to interchange them. Ok that is fine, but what they DID NOT tell me is that the reason they told Vision Direct my prescription could not be ok'd is because of all that not coming in for follow-up business. Stalling. It is all lies on top of lies.
The situation is just so outrageous and I hear so many different stories from those bubble heads on the phone at Americas Best, I could not even explain it properly. On top of that, the nasty girl on the phone said "mam, this is really not OUR fault'...trying to pass the blame on to me. She said there was a 'miscommunication' between them and Vision Direct and do not want to take responsibility.
It was their screw up for giving them the wrong reason for not letting my script go through. That is bad customer service to me just being nasty on the phone and passing blame. Horrible, rotten customer service is all of the stalling and lying. The store was willing to give me a whole year supply of contacts last month even though my prescription runs out this week, so the receptionist could get commission for selling that supply.
So they would let me wear the years supply of lenses on an expired prescription? How convenient that they do not want to make a ONE DAY exception so I can order from this company, considering I have been trying to clean up this mess all week before it expires. They wait until one day after my prescription runs out to take a dump or get off the pot.
All their company is about is selling those crummy memberships. They don't care about the health of people's eyes. When I first came to the store the guy signed me up for that membership and was starting to charge me the prices of my exam and items without even telling me he signed me up for the membership.
He thought he was going to slip that by me until I caught him at it. How slimy is that? Last month when I ordered contacts the store said it would be free shipping. When I got home and checked my account I was charged shipping. So I called about that and they gave me 'a one time customer courtesy refund' of the shipping. Well I can assure you that they would be refunding me 100 times if they pulled that stunt again.
But they will not get the chance. Nothing but problems. I hope somebody runs their a*s out of business. I wouldn't take my worst enemy to them. The last time I was in there the manager was talking very badly about another employee with another employee very loudly, out in the display section of the store, and there were lots of customers there.
Another time they had the door open in some room just for staff and a couple of people in there were talking about getting drunk. Another time I was in there they were giving some old man crap, at that same visit there were two girls in the waiting room with their IPOD on so everyone could hear it, and the song they were playing had the "F" word and the derogatory "N" word for African Americans.
The staff was coming and going out of the area and did not say anything to these two girls. Cowards. So essentially every time I go on there is a problem. losers.......

I just wanted to update on the situation. The district manager did make things right and agreed that the Rochester, MN store was wrong. She did what she could to compensate me for money I almost lost. She let me deal with a different store as well. So the being 'ripped off' part of the situation has been rectified, however I still think the staff at the Rochester store sucks.
