Complaint Review: Americas Shopping Network

I bought into Dennis Swerdlen and his cronies! We paid thousands of dollars to be placed on their shopping network. Dennis and Paula made all sorts of promises and wrote in our contract all of the Cities that they would air our products in.

The first week of the show we didn't have one sale. After calling he blamed it on everything from a Hurricane to the poor economy for our lack of sales.

I began getting suspicious and contacted another businessman who was also airing his products on the same show and stated he to had not sold a thing. He contacted a businesswoman and she too had not sold a thing.

It seems it wasn't just me so I began calling the television stations after hours of digging and searching the internet. I was finally able to track down the different television stations and the promises Dennis Swerdlen made were absolutely deceptive. They made promises of airing in big Cities only to find us airing in a small suburb "somewhere" within in the state, not where we were led to believe we would air in.

I found out that when they said it would air in Chicago, where I currently reside, I don't believe it ever aired! I called Dennis multiple times to find out what channels we were on to no avail, he couldn't even tell me what suburb if any we were airing in. I live here and noone I know including myself could find the ASTVN show on any network. We couldn't even find it on satellite TV!

None of us sold not one product through our entire contract. Dennis was angry, yelling, very upset and verbally abusive when he found out I had been researching all of the television stations. He was unwilling to do anything to rectify the situation. We have reported him to the Illinois State Attorney Generals Office for further review.

They completely mislead all of us as to the airing times and Cities. Had I known I never would have spend the thousands of dollars, yes thousands for the deception we were caught up in.

They really played thier cards right. I have spoken to an attorney who said yes, it was extremely deceptive and we have a right to sue him. We need others who are in the same boat with us to jump on board. Don't let them continue to make false promises to other companies. They are a complete and total ripoff please don't waste your time or money you will regret it!
