After reading all the other complaints I now know that I am not the only one abused by AmeriCredit and their dishonest practices. On July 6th, 2004 at 11:30 p.m. our truck was repossed by AmeriCredit after I had made arrangements to send a full payment of $520.00 on June 30th via Western Union as agreed upon between one of their collections representatives and myself after speaking with her on Saturday, July 24th. We have been behind on payments due to various finanacial mishaps. I was told that if payment was Western Unioned on or before the 30th of June, that our truck would not be repo'd, unfortunately I was lied too. I sent the payment, AmeriCredit accepted the payment and took our truck anyway.

AmeriCredit bullied us on a constant basis making 3 and 4 telephone calls a day to my home number, my work number and to my store number. I requested verbally that they not call my work number because it had been noticed by my boss and my job was being jeopardized and I was told that AmeriCredit had the right to call any number they chose. I have no idea how they got my direct line since I had not shared this with them and when I asked they could not answer me directly. Finally, I had to e-mail AmeriCredit 3 times and write once before I could have my work number removed. I have been threatened verbally on the phone and treated as if I were less than human by AmeriCredit representatives.

I was told that if I send a payment and it is accepted then a vehicle cannot be repo'd but obviously there is loophole because that is exactly what happened. We have 7 payments left on this truck and if AmeriCredit had been patient it would have been paid off in 7 months. If the situation was so bad, why would a company wait 5 years before repo'ing a truck that would be paid off in January of 2005? I also made it a point to send extra money when ever I could in order to try and bring the account current and was told by AmeriCredit that this was not good enough.

The man who repo'd our truck wouldn't even let me see the paperwork or remove our personal items from the vehicle. He just jacked it up in the back and tore out of our parking lot with the vehicle in tow. I asked my husband if damage could happen by towing a vehicle this way and he agrees that it can be damaged especially since the emergency brake was engaged. We have no idea where the truck is because AmeriCredit has not contacted us nor has the repo company. If there is a possible lawsuit out there and it looks as if there is plenty of reason for one, I would like to be involved.

We need to fight AmeriCredit

I know how you feel during my wifes bankruptcy I continued to make payments on our jeep. We were never contacted by Americredit and neither was our bankruptcy Attorney. They just showed up one evening and drove off with the jeep belongings and all. Donna Mcclain who represents Americredit misled us and made several sarcastic remarks telling my wife maybe she shouldn't have filed bankruptcy.

She tried to claim we were three payments behind. We proved her wrong! we were only one payment behind due to my fathers death. Americredit stated if we called back in May of 2003 we could receive an extension. Bull!! they then harassed us with repeated calls to our jobs and home. Currently we have made all but that May payment and we offered to pay that.

Instead Donna Mcclain insisted we violated the terms of the contract and would have to come up with $11,000. The predators then sent a letter three days after our last conversation and stated they would auction the vehicle and dispose of our property. Our vehicle is two hrs away and we have no reliable transportation to get our belongings. I have contacted the Attorney General and the Commerce commission.

I am also palnning on suing Americredit for harassment and threats along with violations regarding the bankruptcy laws which our Attorney is also investigating other allegations aaginst Americredit. They lie when they claim they will work with you. They will steal your vehicle from you and don't believe some of the bull put out their by their employees or persons connected to Americredit or any other predatory finance companies.

They don't lose a dam bit of money when they have to repossess It is disgusting what they are doing to you. I now have to pay $50.00 and $10.00 a day everyday after, if I want my belongings. I sure hope its worth it to them when we end up in court! I tried to reason with them but look what happens, they mistake kindness for weakness!
