In October 2006 I happened to go outside to walk my dog and found a tow truck picking up my vehicle, the driver stated that he had a repo order to do so. I told him this was a mistake and that my vehicle was just recently paid off and I was awaiting the title. He said "I appologize but I have my orders, if you had the paperwork i can put the vehicle down and I would leave". I told him I understand your position and im sure this is a misunderstanding and i'll fix it in the morning. The next morning I called Americredit and explained the situation of what had happened. The person on the other end stated that I had an outstanding balance of $1600.00. I told them this was a mistake especially since one week earlier you told me congratulations and since they recieved my last payment, my loan was being moved to the "Mature Loans" deparment and I would be receiving my title in the next week or so. Neverdid I expect that my vehicle would be reposessed. I then asked the question "where is my car being held" they told me it was their right to hold the vehicle without providing that information and the would let me know by mail. That information never arrived, hey never told me where the car was being held, never told me what real monies were owed after requesting a statement of what was due, never advised me of where the car wasto be auctioned where I could get my car if  wanted it, never told me that the car had been sold and for what price and the difference. It was only through my credit scoring company that I found out that the vehicle had been charged off $90.00 and all that happened in less than 60 days. Time has passed and I am pissed off everyday because I have spent over $25,000 for a vehicle and it was stolen from me not to mention ruined my credit which this company was supposed to help me repair. I held up my end of the bargain. These people are crooks and I feel they misrepresented themselves and stole my car to boot. Its been a few years now im still repairing my credit from this and Im still burnt after all these years.
