I lost my job a couple of months ago and have my car loan with Americredit. Last month my mom offered to help me out so that I wouldn't lose the car. No car = Can't get to work. My mom sent a payment and a half in December to them and then another one in January. Two weeks have passed since that check was sent and it still isn't posted. Today they Repoed my car. Now it will take 4 business days to get the car back, and I have to pay double the amount owed to bring the account current. I also have to pay for the 6 days of storage for the car (because there will be 2 weekend days before I get the car back). They call 5 times a day and don't read the notes of others. I made this agreement with someone in December and later the same day I got another call from someone saying that they want payment that day. I am still out of work and my mom is helping me get my car back and we have made the payment and filled out their forms that are needed. I hope I will have my car back soon so that I can continue to look for a job. I will keep you posted.

Do not send payments via check or bill pay or wire transfer.. They can obtain your account information and start removing their payments or worse yet try to obtain payment when no funds are available and send you on a wild ride trying to get your checking/savings account straight and now you are reported to chexsystems (another scam)and good luck getting off..

It will cost you about $4.85 more per payment, but mail it certified mail, return reciept requested.

AND, put the certified# ON THE CHECK.

Now you have rock solid proof.

As far as the repo guys go, a pit bull or a bullet can cure that. Especially in FL with the new self defense laws and use of deadly force. The "castle doctrine" now extends to your car!

As far as the payment goes, if they have a local office , hand carry the payment and get a reciept.

OR get thier bank account info off one of your cancelled checks, and wire it directly to thier account!

Too any scumbags in the financial business.

AMERICREDIT has no respect for the law because they are loansharks. The only thing you can do is keep very good records and also keep calling them and documenting each person you talk to and times, dates and etc. They lie, cheat, and steal and call it Legal. I have told everyone that I know how they operate and this is the only way to stop them from stealing from others. Report them to the BBB, to start with, so it can be on record stating how they treat their customers.

They hold your money and refuse to post your payments and then want to charge you these ridiculous late charges. You cannot trust one thing that they say to you. They will lie to your face, while the knife is going in your back. They operate for one reason only and that is to get as rich as they can by lying, cheating and stealing.

THe CEO's are a bunch of laywers that cant get a job anywhere else, so they come to Americredit for easy money.

THe best thing you can do is spread the word to others to save them from these sharks, because they are out for blood and will do anything and everything to invent more charges against you and call it Legal.

I cant state enough how important it is to keep your own records. Americredit is known for losing payments and that is how they make more money off of you.

Hope you can get your car back soon.
Best wishes..............

I had my property stolen out of my car when it was repoed and also my ss card was stolen.
We took the repo guy to court and he never showed up because he disappeared suddenly and moved away.

Americredit only uses the lowest scum to do their dirty work for them. Birds of a feather , flock together...................
