Complaint Review: AmeriCredit

On April 23, 2008 I telephoned Americredit to get the exact Payoff amount on my car loan. I spoke with Travis and was given the amount of $13,492.96. This amount was good until May 3rd, 2008. Americredit received a check for $13,907.12 from my new leinholder on April 28, 2008..well in the time frame of my payoff amount. I was due an overage of $414.96. However, I received a check for only $337.86. It was short by $76.00.

I called today and spoke with Susan in Customer Service. I asked her where the rest of my money went? She began to lie, said that she didn't know how I got that payoff amount, that she didn't know who Travis was, that she had no way of knowing if he even worked at Americredit, that the new creditor may have given me a different payoff amont. That's when I sunk my teeth into her! I said "What does the new loan company have to do with the payoff amount given to me by Americredit?" Did she really, really think she was dealing with an idiot? Susan then began to do her AmeriCredit Ripoff Dance....and switch subjects, danced around the fact that "Travis actually did worked in the Custormer Service Dept...and blah, blah, blah." I told her she was a liar!

My situtaion is complete and I won't be able to get my $76.00 back--but this headache is gone compared to most of you the others on here! I am so sorry you have to have such problems with Americredit. I am a fighter, and my mom is much more of a vicious tiger than I, neither of us could get our way with Americredit. We could not get Susan to stop lieing or get the Americredit Dancers to stop backpeddling. This is nothing compared to what some of you have gone through, and for that I am so sorry. Next time, I am going to have to be an even better consumer..have the payoff quote emailed to me that instant. I didn't have any proof of ever speaking with Travis at AmeriCredit.

Americredit is only in this to make money, which they do so quite well. And they are making a fortune off hard workers like you and me!! Wouldn't it be great if we all had good credit so we wouldn't have to go with these slime ball orgaizations? The borrower is the lender's slave. I hope all of you are freed soon! Please go out and try and get another loan. I did and went from 17.9 % to 11.5 %...still not great, but got rid of Americredit and my credit history is peppered with booboo's on my part.
