Americredit Repossessed after agreeing not to do to husband with colon cancer Arlington Texas

We had a few payments left on our van, we had a five year loan. My husband was diagnosed in the fall of last year with colon cancer. Had to have surgery and started chemo in January 2006. He has been out of work and I fell behind 2 months on our payments which were out of sight to begin with. We were two months behind and on that thursday I told them we were just waiting on his social security to start coming through that I would try to send them something the following week. The woman said that was fine.I had also emailed them several times explaining to them the situation, faxing them over the doctor medical note explaining what was happening to my husband. That following sunday three days after being told they would wait, I got up to go to church and the van was gone. GONE!!! Now they are telling me I owe them over 9,000???? After I have paid them for almost five years!!!!! Do I have proof of all my payments, no..and I am sure they are sure betting that I don't. My husband has cancer and we have to fight with them now?????What a total rip off..how do they sleep at night!!!! They want us to pay them over 9,000 to get our van back...when we were behind 2 months at 520 a month?? They can keep it! One battle in our life is enough.

I got similar situation as your last month. I noticed that you filed complaint back to April I don't know if your problem was resolved at this point.

But I can tell you that I bought a car on march 2003 which I found it was lemon after an year. Checked by inspector. I have hard time fixing the car and spending more money that I didn't expected.

Anyone can experience hard times once in your life. This time was my turn.

I got paying this car with high interest for the last three years. After 2004 I got medical expenses which started to concerned a little my payments and requesting deferment but I was paying. In 2005 I something came up and we were paying my dad funeral at the same time. I was contacting with them several times to inform my situation.

This year I had a hard times which were concerned my credit. I had comunicate this situation to them. I know I delays my payment but I was with good intent to pay.

They repossed my car without any notification to me. I made phone call to them and because their collection department was to bussy I left to message to the customer service repthat I was making on full payment which for my nderstanding it was HUGE MISTAKE !!! they never sent my message to such dept.

I call them and asked why the never notify me so I could do whatever I need, and they responded that they sent ceritified letter by mail which I had not received, even the slit from post office.

Now they said that it doesn't matter if I didn't pick it up they complianced the law to notify me.

Nobody signed that certificate and used to received certified. I got once certified letter from them long time ago,I got it and resolved the problem. I don't understand why they repossessed whithout any signiture. I would know, I will do it whatever a I need to do.
