My husband and I were in a pinch around Christmas of 2011, so we bit the bullet and took out a loan. The company that financed this was AmeriLoan. We took out $200, and were to repay $260 on the next paycheck. The
AmeriLoan representative said they would auto deduct this from our checking account on the specified date. My husband confirmed (he was the primary loanee) that the total amount of $260 would be auto deducted on said date. My husband tried to get information, just in case, on a way we could manually repay the loan, however, the representative told him "Don't worry, its all taken care of." and refused to provide us the requested information. My husband was informed that they would mail him a copy of the agreement (which we never received).
December 23rd- Money in hand, we went on about our business.

January 13th- An amount of $60 was deducted from our account. At this point, we thought it was just the finance charge that came though first, so we waited. But nothing else came through.
February 16th- Another $60 was deducted from our account. We got worried, and tried to call. To no avail. The rep said "I'm sorry, without an account number we can't help you." They never provided us with an account number. We tried to have her look it up via social security number, but she said she was "not authorized" to look it up that way.
March 16th and April 16th- Another $60 each.
Then it got worse! May 16th- $50 deduction then another $60 deduction (same date, separate transactions)
Again, we tried calling. We tried speaking to a supervisor but the guy we spoke to said "There are no supervisors available."
June 16th- Another double transaction: $50 and $45.
And again this month, July 16th- $50 and $30.

So far, they have taken out $525. We tried many times to contact them regarding what is happening, but the representatives we speak with refuse to provide us with any service, paperwork, nor any form of documentation. The only option we have at this point is to close our bank account, or change the account number, which will put us without availability of our income for 2 weeks while we wait for our replacement bank cards. However, with the business trips my husband takes that is not a viable option.

I found the following links shortly after filing this report. For anyone tempted to use this company, review the website and PDFs FIRST!
The Federal Trade Commission has filed a lawsuit against this company. The company practices have been found to be illegal and hopefully they will be shut down by the FTC!

I'm screwed, but I'd rather not see anyone else screwed too!!!
They are still taking money out of my account. This time it was $50 and $80... And my bank doesn't block merchants from collecting money. Stupid bank.

Due to an unexpected ER visit and the 20% Medicare didn't cover I owed $200 to the ambulance company
$80 to the ER doctor
$20 for "supplies"
$120 not covered by Medicare
Total $420
I "borrowed" $500
I was sent the Email Agreement which gave me my account number and the repayment terms which ended up being $140/Month for 6 months which was $840 but i knew that was the cost for the convenience of stretching this amount due over a 6 month period after my last payment the next day i got a courtesy call thanking me for being a loyal customer and an email saying i could borrow up to $500 again and only pay $140 for 4 months a total of $560
