I answered a TV add which lead me to a website for Ameriplan dental and health insurance. After filling out my info, I was contacted by a nice individual going by the name of Betty from (I believe) Huston or Austin TX. and was signed up as a rep. for the company. It turned out to be more expensive for me than I liked and it seemed I would be paying in more money than I would be making.

The cost of a website, conference calls, order forms, brochures, etc was overwhelming to say the least. I contacted Betty asking out and was informed that there was several things that I needed to do and was asked to wait a couple of days before making my request. I waited as she asked ,then began the process of trying to cancel.

I e-mailed the company requesting out, called and go a voice message, sent a letter requesting the same as suggested in the voice message and even e-mailed again. All this occured in late 2004 while living in New Orleans LA. Unfortunately I'm not one to consist-antly check my monthly statements and was not aware that Ameriplan was still holding $35.00 monthly out of my account by way of my ATM Mastercard.

I e-mailed again in May 2005 and felt things my be OK. Then came Katrina and a move for my family and I inorder to keep our jobs. Today I called the Bank in NOLA and found the account overdrawn due to a draft from Ameriplan, charging my account $50.00 according to the Teller.

Guess what today 10-23-06 I tried to contact Ameriplan and couldn't. I had loss all contact info during Katrina. It's and insult added to injury. How can Ameriplan not only disrespect my request to quit and not represent them, but increase the amount to pay for a website that doesn't exist, How can they sleep at night. As my mom would say " They are so crooked that when they die they'll have to be screwed into the ground "

A-Norfolk, VA.,

I've read your message this morning and will try your suggestion AGAIN!! Hopefully it will work this time.

My problem at this point is how do I get reimbursed for the monies that have been taken out of my account? I'm not sure when the amount changed from $35.00 to $50.00 but I am sure that I want my money back.

Thanks for responding.

I am an IBO and have been for over a year. I am sorry your experience has not been a good one. My heart goes out to you as it appears that you have also had to deal with Katrina. God Bless you all.

If you have your broker ID# anywhere, you can send and email to stop@stopmembership.com with your information. I am sorry that the one who sponsored you has not helped you with this. I have helped in this with anyone be they a member or a broker. I've never had a problem helping someone to cancel. Even if you don't have your ID#, send one anyway and give them the info you used to sign up. Not you account #s, just your name and address and your request to cancel. Send a couple of them.

Call Bank & Credit card services (800)550-9726 and ask that they remove your banking information.

If all else fails, notify your bank that you no longer want to authorize payments to Ameriplan and you will go into inactive for a month and then you will be cancelled.

Again, I am sorry that this has happened to you. Ameriplan is a real and viable company. It has saved me a lot of money in caring for my mom. It is the Independent Business Owners that are responsible for running there own business. Ameriplan's discount card is the product. There are many out there that just don't get it and are only concerned with making a quick buck and not building a honest business, with partners that want the same thing. There is a program in place that is to weed out the "bad seeds" and solve the issues of unethical practices where the IBO's are concerned.

I hope this gets resolved for you soon and that your life takes a turn for the better.
