Ameriquest Mortgage Aka AMC Charging flood insurance and escrow charges not in the original contract RIPOFF Orange county California
I am trying to get refinanced to get away from Ameriquest Mortgage. They have started charging me for flood insurance and my insurance agent tells me that I am not in a flood plain. When I called Ameriquest to complain, I was told that their insurance people say that I am in a flood plain and I will have to pay the flood insurance. In June of this year, I was the victim of fraud with my bank account.
I called Ameriquest to inform them that I was going to be late on payment due to the fact that my bank accounts had been wiped out by a thief. Instead of helping me in any way, I was tod that I should borrow the money from somewhere else or take things to the pawn shop! Starting the first of this month (October), my payments jumped almost three hundred dollars per month because they added escrow charges.
My payments are now about four hundred dollars a month more than when I started. They are trying to charge me more than I can pay. I am trying hard to get away from them but now they put the late payment on my credit and if I don't pay the higher payments it is only going to get worse. The problem is that if I pay them, I can't pay any other bills.
Either way- I lose and "Ameritheft" wins. When I got the loan originally, I thought they were doing me a favor! There were some real problems though and I should have walked away. I just couldn't afford to lose money I was afraid they would bill for appraisals and other costs. I was quoted a 5.9% fixed 30 year rate and it wound up being 6.5 for two years, 30 year ARM when I went to closing.
I am soooooo disgusted with these rude, uncaring, thieving people.
I pray that there will be some kind of help for all the poor people who have been ripped off by Ameriquest. I say poor because if you weren't that way when they met them the probably are now or will be soon.
